Year in Review

We had a great year and are looking forward to 2014.  It is a little hard to believe that it is almost time to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s again but it gets better each year as the girls get older and understand what the season means.  We have much to be grateful for.

Highlights:
-Freyja started preschool, swimming and swim lessons, travel, track meet, art projects, gymnastics, dance class, Nature Babies, playdates, church, science experiments, playing at parks, time for being silly, and grandparent visits.
-Library - My guess is that we checked out about 200+ books this year and attended storytimes regularly.
-Freyja and Jordan telling us about their day at dinner each night.
-Jordan entering the "I want to help with anything and everything" phase.
-A million questions a day from Freyja who wants to learn so much.
-Trying to capture and enjoy the moments of the girls growing up.
-Watching the development of the sisterly bond, which is amazing.  Listening to the laughter of them playing together; even hearing the yelling when one takes something away from the other.  It is so great that they have each other.
-Family days spent together visiting friends, the local estuary, parks, hiking, aquarium, and BBQs.
-Playing games with Freyja - UNO, Old Maid, Slapjack, Go Fish, Trouble, and Busytown.

Some updates on the parents of these two great girls:
-Nicole is starting a volunteer position in the new year as a financial literacy counselor.
-Jon's is still enjoying the same job at the university.
-We most enjoy spending time hiking, reading and just hanging out as a family.
